Life In Perpetual Beta

Wow, I was really happy to meet Clay Collins, he was pretty nervous in this interview - I think my new camera crew was a little overwhelming (even for me). The funny part about this is that just before our interview, he was babysitting my kids for me while I interviewed Liz Strauss,Terry Starbucker, and Lorelle VanFossen, so maybe he was still a little shaken up after hangin’ with my hell raisers, but he volunteered! (Yes, he’s that nice)

The great part about this guy is that he’s shaking things up in the best way possible. He’s insighting riots inside peoples minds, he’s asking them to question what the established assumptions are about what’s important to them. And he’s getting the message out in the sharpest, most witty, intelligent way possible. Here is a quote from his blog:

The best thoughts occur when you don’t have to have them, they occur after plenty of rest, they occur when you’re grasping the gestalts of life. The best thoughts occur when we’re mindful of the full immensity of this beautiful thing called existence.

The battle for our thoughts is the battle against our ego’s desire to gain an “important” job; it’s the battle against the very materialism that encourages us to exchange too many of our thoughts for money; and it’s a battle against the collective flattery (of society) that sweet talks us into crazy-busy careers.
