I recently spoke at the 140 Character Conference in NYC. I could not believe how nervous I was, with everything I’ve accomplished over the last year, I don’t know why I thought public speaking was going to be easier. What I realize though, is I will be doing a lot more of it as the Life In Perpetual Beta doc comes into fruition – so I better get cozy up on that stage.
What I also realized is this, even with the advent of social networking, getting the word out is still a lot of work. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not. I think raising awareness about the film and blog series will take more work than making the film itself.

What an amazing journey. I’m so glad we’ve connected and I can witness your story, Melissa!
So glad I watched this because….
1) I just learned you were outsourcing the editing for LIPB. Quite honestly I didn’t know how you were going to find the time, raising kids is time consuming! I think open sourcing it is a neat idea, I’d like to learn more.
2) I would have otherwise never found out about the twitter girl video

Your story delighted me mostly because of your trust in being cared for without having to plan. This is a deep trust in the connectedness we have to each other despite outward differences. Social media is breaking down the fences & padlocks that have sprung up to “protect” us. It’s brought us into each other homes and onto each others porches again. Many years ago, it was like that without technology. Wish I lived close. It would be fun to participate in your project.
